PINEVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Authorities say three people were killed when a vehicle crashed into the rear of a coal truck in southeastern Kentucky.

Steven Douglas, an officer with Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, said the crash occurred Monday near Pineville.

Douglas said the coal truck was pulled over on the side of the highway and was being repaired when the vehicle crashed into the back of the truck. He said all three victims were in the vehicle that hit the truck.

The victims had not yet been identified. Douglas said he was unaware of any other injuries in the crash.
