FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) - The Davis School District has appointed a new superintendent for schools with a $196,600 annual salary.

The Standard-Examiner reports (https://bit.ly/2eOPJ5P ) that Reid Newey has been appointed to the position by the Davis School District Board of Education, effective Dec. 1. Newey currently serves as the assistant superintendent of the Weber School District.

According to his contract, Newey’s annual base salary will be $193,000 until July 1, 2017, at which time he will receive the cost of living increase other administrators receive. He will also receive a $3,600 administrative allowance.

Former superintendent Bryan Bowles made an annual base salary of $223,042 when he left the job in September. Bowles received a $10,445 administrative allowance.
