PENNSVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a 4-year-old boy is dead after his father found him unresponsive in the family’s backyard swimming pool in New Jersey.
Police officials say the boy’s father found the child late Sunday afternoon without a pulse at the family’s home in Pennsville Township. He wasn’t breathing.
Police and paramedics gave the boy CPR. Officials say he was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Police say both of the boy’s parents were at home at the time of the incident.
Police are withholding the boy’s name until his family can be notified.
His death remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
