HOUSTON (AP) - Investigators say a security guard at a Houston-area gaming room has been fatally shot by a suspect who then fled.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says nobody has been arrested in Sunday night’s attack. The name of the victim wasn’t immediately released.
Deputies say an armed man tried to enter the gaming room but was stopped by the guard, who tried to lock the door before the suspect kicked it open.
Authorities say the two men struggled and the suspect shot the guard. The victim died at the scene.
Sheriff’s officials say the suspect jumped into a white minivan and sped away.
Officials say about 40 people were inside the gaming room during the shooting. Nobody else was harmed.
Investigators didn’t immediately release additional information about the gaming site.
