WILLISTON, Vt. (AP) - Police say a Vermont man is facing a charge of criminal mischief for ripping down Donald Trump signs in a Williston yard.

Twenty-three-year-old Rashid Atweh (At-WAH), of Essex, has been cited to appear in court for unlawful mischief.

The signs at the particular address have been vandalized, stolen and destroyed seven times in the past two weeks.

Police say on Sunday a passer-by spotted Atweh ripping down the signs and blocked him in with his vehicle until police arrived.

Authorities say an altercation took place between Atweh and the man, but no one was hurt.

They say Atweh accidentally hit the vehicle as he was trying to drive away. He could not be reached for comment. There was no phone listing in his name.
