KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County authorities say a Valle Vista woman has been accused of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
According to county sheriff’s officials, 44-year-old Dana Stegenga was arrested Saturday and remains jailed.
It was unclear Monday if she has a lawyer yet.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence off Highway 66 in Valle Vista, which is north of Kingman.
A relative of Stegenga was concerned about her and believed she was using drugs.
Stegenga was found lying on the floor at her home, but she refused medical attention and struggled with a deputy who saw a gun in her hand.
She was arrested, the gun was seized and Stegenga was taken to a Kingman hospital to be evaluated before being booked into jail.
