TORRINGTON, Wyo. (AP) - A 72-year-old inmate at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington has died.
The state Corrections Department says Roy Lee Peters died Sunday after a lengthy illness.
Peters, who was a native of Denver, was sentenced in July 2013 by Sweetwater County District Court Judge Richard L. Lavery to 7 to 10 years for third degree sexual assault.
An autopsy has been ordered.
