YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the death of a man who was shot in a Yakima parking lot.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports (https://bit.ly/2eOOJPj ) that 51-year-old John Barret was shot Sunday in downtown Yakima, the suspect fled the scene but was arrested nearby shortly after the shooting.

The suspect was booked into Yakima County jail for second-degree murder.

This is the 11th homicide in Yakima so far this year and the third shooting in the city since last week.
