WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - Air Products & Chemicals plans to lay off even more workers at a northeastern Pennsylvania location after cutting 26 workers in September.

A company spokeswoman tells The Citizens’ Voice in Wilkes-Barre (https://bit.ly/2fk1VfF ) that more workers will be cut in December and January and that even more layoffs could follow for months after that.

Spokeswoman Katie McDonald says the cuts are the result of a continued global decline in orders for liquefied natural gas equipment manufactured at the plant.

A drop in oil prices has hurt liquefied natural gas producers and there’s an oversupply of liquefied natural gas in the world economy.

The September layoffs were the fourth round of cuts last year at the facility on Sans Souci Parkway in Wilkes-Barre.
