WEEHAWKEN, N.J. (AP) - Election Day events could snarl traffic in a tunnel named for one of the nation’s most revered presidents.

The Port Authority is urging motorists to avoid the Lincoln Tunnel on Tuesday afternoon and evening because of planned election events in Midtown and on Manhattan’s West Side.

The agency says significantly higher traffic volumes are expected and travelers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
