PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Prosecutors say a jury has convicted a man of murder and weapons charges after authorities say he killed his brother in a dispute over how to use living space in the basement of their father’s Philadelphia home.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (https://bit.ly/2fbKGiS ) 30-year-old Dominic Rountree was convicted of third-degree murder on Monday stemming from the September 2015 shooting death of his 31-year-old brother, Jacquell.

Their father testified that he lived in the two-story home with his three adult sons and an adult daughter, along with Jacquell’s girlfriend and their two children. The brothers had divided the basement into three cubicles.

Defense attorney Gary Server has said Jacquell stabbed Dominic earlier that year and that the two had been disputing for years.

Sentencing is scheduled for early 2017.
