MARTINEZ, Calif. (AP) - Police say the woman who ran over her estranged husband and two of his friends before jumping to her death off a San Francisco Bay Area bridge had just attended a divorce hearing with the victims in family court.

Martinez police Det. Miles Williamson told KTVU-TV the woman looked like she was hitting the center median and a wall of the Benicia-Martinez Bridge Monday before she parked and jumped to her death. He said police do not know whether she was trying to drive the car off the bridge. The car was a rental with Nevada plates.

Several witnesses saw the woman speed up and hit the three people outside a courthouse in Martinez about 20 minutes earlier. The woman has not been identified.

The three were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
