LOS ANGELES (AP) - Voters waiting in long lines at polling places are seeking shade as an autumn heat wave moves into Southern California.

Temperatures hit the 80s on Election Day across greater Los Angeles and forecasters say it could be even warmer on Wednesday.

Conditions will create an elevated danger of fire, although winds are not expected to be strong enough to warrant red flag warnings.

Meanwhile a high surf advisory is in place for Orange County, where waves up to seven feet and rip currents are expected.
