LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County authorities are trying to identify human remains that were found north of Lake Havasu City.

Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded to the scene Monday after a group of people reported finding skeletal remains in a desert area south of Interstate 40.

No identification was found with the clothing and a bicycle was located nearby.

Authorities say the gender of the remains is unclear due to decomposition.

The county Medical Examiner’s Office recovered the human remains and identification and autopsy results are pending.

Sheriff’s officials say the case remains under investigation.
