RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Reno Police Department says charges are not expected to be filed in a shooting that killed a 17-year-old girl last month.
Police were called Oct. 23 after shots were fired in the area of Douglas Alley and Virginia Street. Officers found a teenage boy and gitrl who had been shot. The girl died of her injuries.
A third shooting victim arrived at the hospital for injuries that were not life threatening.
According to a Tuesday news release, officer found the 17-year-old girl had confronted a group of people and fired a gun several times before a person in the group of victims returned fire in defense of himself.
Names of the girl or any others involved have not been released.
