PRATTVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Prattville now has reserved parking places for military veterans.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports (https://on.mgmadv.com/2fZndms ) that the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off the program this week, in time for Veterans Day.

There are reserved parking signs at City Hall, the Autauga County Courthouse and other county administration buildings in the area.

Chamber president Patty VanderWal says businesses are welcome to join the program, and two already have - Larry Puckett Chevrolet and Trustmark Bank.

Retired Air Force chief master sergeant Burt Williams says he was stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base in the early 1980s, and Prattville’s patriotism is one reason he decided to retire there.
