ADDISON, Vt. (AP) - Wildlife exhibits, a waterfowl calling contest and nature walks are part of this year’s Dead Creek Wildlife Day in Addison.

The free event sponsored by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area.

One of the highlights of the festival this year is the waterfowl calling contest with prizes in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of the Vermont Duck Stamp program.

There will also be a presentation on the successes of the Duck Stamp program, which has helped conserve nearly 12,000 acres of wetlands across Vermont.

The event also includes live wildlife presentations, fishing and hunting tips, decoy carving and hunting dog demonstrations.
