ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Flint residents have gone to the Big House with thousands of stickers to remind football fans that their city still is recovering from lead-tainted water.

The stickers say “Day 365 Flint.” It’s been a year since Gov. Rick Snyder formally acknowledged a catastrophe in Flint from water that wasn’t treated to reduce corrosiveness. As a result, lead from pipes and old fixtures contaminated the water supply.

The stickers were distributed at the Michigan-Wisconsin football game Saturday. Melissa Mays wants people to know that Flint’s water woes aren’t over. Only a small percentage of water lines have been replaced.

Flint residents now get their water from Lake Huron instead of the Flint River, but they’re still urged to drink only bottled water or filtered tap water while the system heals.
