ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Two men have pleaded guilty to stealing timber from the RoyOMartin company, with plea deals that avoid prison.
The Town Talk (https://townta.lk/2dMlBsw ) reports that Tommy Leroy Morgan of Natchitoches (NAK-uh-desh) and Kevin Wayne Hill of Coushatta both were put on probation Friday - Morgan for five years, Hill for one.
Judge Mary Lauve Doggett also ordered Morgan to pay restitution, which Assistant District Attorney Brian Mosely says could total more than $1 million. Morgan has already paid $600,000 of it.
He pleaded guilty to theft of more than $25,000 and was ordered to pay $5,000 each in fines and investigation costs.
Hill pleaded guilty to theft of less than $750. He must pay $1,000 each for fines and prosecution costs.
The judge could order prison if they violate probation.
