PHOENIX (AP) - Two men and a teenager have died from their injuries in an early morning crash in which both vehicles hit trees on Central Avenue in north Phoenix.

Police say detectives still are investigating Monday’s accident, but a witness reported the vehicles appeared to be racing when both drivers lost control.

Two of the victims were ejected from a vehicle that caught fire after striking a tree. Police identified the two as 22-year-old Jessie Alberto Worth and 17-year-old Jesus Fabian Aguilar.

They say 18-year-old Marcos Hemberto Agmayo-Aguilar was driving the second vehicle that struck a tree on the other side of Central Avenue.

Firefighters had to use power tools to get him out of his car and he later died at a hospital.

Police say the victims weren’t wearing seat belts.
