CAMDEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a Hillsdale County woman is in stable condition after police shot her in the arm while responding to a weekend domestic situation.

Michigan State Police say the woman pointed a gun at troopers and Hillsdale County Sheriff’s deputies during the Saturday incident in Camden Township. State police say three officers from both departments fired at the woman. Police say she retreated back into the home before officers were able to talk to her. She then left the home and went to the hospital.

She was taken by ambulance to Hillsdale Hospital and then transferred to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor for surgery.

The woman’s identity wasn’t immediately released. Officials say her injuries aren’t life threatening. An inquiry into the incident is pending.
