PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a woman who was struck by a vehicle on a Phoenix street has died of her injuries.

Phoenix police say 38-year-old Monica Henley was hit by a car about 8 p.m. Sunday.

They say a preliminary investigation indicates Henley walked into the roadway mid-block.

Police say one vehicle swerved to avoid hitting her, but another vehicle driven by a 69-year-old man struck her.

Henley was taken in critical condition to a hospital, where she died of her injuries.

Police say the drivers involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Their names weren’t released.

Police say neither speed nor impaired driving appear to be factors in the fatal accident.
