RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Authorities believe a woman who was shot and killed while riding in a car in Richmond was the victim of random gunfire.
News outlets report that officers who were called to the Gilpin Court area Sunday afternoon found the unidentified woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Maj. Crimes Capt. James Laino says the victim was struck by what appears to be random gunfire.
Witnesses told police they heard multiple gunshots in the area leading up to the person being wounded.
