AUBURN, Wash. (AP) - A Yakima-area man has been sentenced to more than 23 years in prison of killing a neighbor at his Auburn apartment duplex in 2013.

SeattlePI.com reports (https://bit.ly/2d5cF3Y ) that 46-year-old Jason Gamache was sentenced Friday to 280 months in prison after being convicted in August of slashing Wayne McCune’s throat in an in 2013.

Prosecutors say Gamache killed McCune and stole his prescription painkillers, which Gamache was addicted to. Gamache had previously been caught taking McCune’s prescription.
