GARLAND, Texas (AP) - Police have arrested two theft suspects following a Dallas-area chase in which one man dashed onto a highway, dodged vehicles and was stopped when an officer discharged a stun gun.

Garland police say both men face theft charges following an alleged shoplifting attempt Tuesday at a department store.

Investigators say one man waited in a vehicle while another went into the store, where workers recognized him as a prior theft suspect and contacted police.

Officers then chased the vehicle until it went the wrong way on a toll road. A law enforcement helicopter followed until the driver stopped and tried to run across Interstate 30. An officer used a stun gun to stop the driver, who also faces evading arrest charges.

The second suspect was captured near the store.
