WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - An attorney representing a suburban Philadelphia university student accused of having raped another student in a parking garage says he wants to interview a woman who interrupted the alleged assault.
Twenty-four-year-old Austin Eaddy is charged with rape, sexual assault and other counts in the alleged April attack on a woman walking back to her West Chester University dorm after an off-campus party.
Defense attorney Phillip Press maintains that his client was part of a consensual act. The Daily Local News of West Chester (https://bit.ly/2dLr2ID ) reports that he told a Chester County judge on Wednesday that he wants to know whether anything in the witness’s past “may have colored her perception” of what she saw.
Prosecutors say they will object to any questions at trial about the witness’s past experiences.
