LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky State Fair Board says it has hired its next president and CEO.

Jason Rittenberry was chosen Tuesday to replace former President and CEO Clifford “Rip” Rippetoe, who left in March to become CEO of the San Diego Convention Center. Rittenberry’s hiring comes after a five-member search committee was appointed in May by fair board chairman Mark Lynn.

Rittenberry currently serves as chief strategy officer for Circuit of The Americas.

The fair board manages the Kentucky Exposition Center and the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville. It also produces the Kentucky State Fair, National Farm Machinery Show, North American International Livestock Exposition and Kentucky Hoopfest.
