BUCKEYE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Buckeye say they’re investigating a drowning involving a 1-year-old boy.

Officers responded to a home about an unresponsive juvenile male about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Police administered CPR to the baby and fire officials continued the efforts.



The infant was transported by helicopter to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Buckeye police say their criminal investigation division is looking into the incident.

Details on how the child drowned weren’t immediately released Wednesday.
