BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A roadway was shut down as authorities tried to wrangle cows that had escaped from a trailer following a crash in Baton Rouge.

Local media outlets report both southbound lanes of Airline Highway were closed at Sherwood Commons on Tuesday after a cow trailer overturned. The cows escaped the trailer, roaming onto the roadway.

Multiple agencies worked to corral the cows, which were shown running down the highway in videos posted on social media.

The road, which was closed for about an hour, has since reopened.
