JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi attorney general says Oktibbeha County Circuit Clerk Edwin Glenn Hamilton has been formally charged for possession of methamphetamine.
Jim Hood said in a news release the 60-year-old Hamilton, of Maben, was arrested on June 16 and indicted by a Clay County grand jury last week for one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Hamilton was arraigned Wednesday in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court before Judge James T. Kitchens Jr. and released on a $5,000 bond
The county district attorney’s office recused itself from the case.
