REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say three people have been rescued after their sailboat caught fire nine miles off the Southern California coast.

City News Service says the 42-foot vessel off Redondo Beach was fully engulfed when firefighters and lifeguards arrived Friday.

Two people were rescued from the boat. A third person who jumped in the water was also saved.
