CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A 55-year-old Casper man has been convicted of arson for burning down his ex-wife’s trailer house in December 2013.
Jurors on Thursday convicted Mark Garrison of first-degree arson and of being a habitual criminal, which means he could face up to 50 years in prison. He has several previous convictions including violating a protection order.
Court records say Kathe Hendricks told investigators that Garrison had repeatedly threatened to kill her and burn down the house.
A former friend of Garrison testified that earlier in the hours before the house fire he saw Garrison leave with a 5-gallon gas can. He also said that Garrison had predicted the house was going to burn down because of bad wiring.
Garrison is being held without bond. A sentencing date has not been set.
