MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Supreme Court is refusing to intervene in the case of a former college professor who pleaded guilty to killing three colleagues at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
The justices on Friday released an order saying they won’t review a lower court’s refusal to hear the appeal of Amy Bishop Anderson.
Anderson pleaded guilty four years ago to opening fire during a faculty meeting and shooting six colleagues in a conference room at UAH in 2010. Three people died.
The Harvard University-educated biologist waived her right to appeal with the guilty plea, but she’s been challenging the conviction ever since. She is serving a life term.
Anderson shot and killed her brother in their Massachusetts home in 1986, but she claimed it was an accident and wasn’t prosecuted.
