LAMBERT, Miss. (AP) - Lambert Fire Department, Mississippi State Fire Marshals, and ATF agents are investigating a fire at Faith Baptist Church in Lambert, Mississippi.

Church members are concerned for their safety, fearing the church was targeted by an arsonist. Authorities, however, have not said how the fire started in a back room of the building.

WMC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dfS9sE ) around 3 a.m. Thursday, the preacher’s wife heard a popping noise and looked outside. She says she saw an inferno.

Hours later, the church was gone. Now, nothing but a few chairs remain.

Just three months ago, the preacher’s home, which is located next door, was also destroyed in a fire. No cause for that fire has been determined.
