MILWAUKEE (AP) - Authorities have charged a Milwaukee man in the death of a musician whose body was discovered at the jazz club he founded.

Thirty-year-old Jason Small is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon in the death of 65-year-old Donald Lewis, whose body was found in Milwaukee’s Young Urban Jazz Cafe on Oct. 8.

The criminal complaint says Small worked at the club as a cook and cashier. Authorities say surveillance video from the club on Oct. 7 shows Small following Lewis into the kitchen, and Lewis not coming out. They say it also shows Small taking money from the cash register.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Small is jailed with bail set at $300,300. Attorney information for Small wasn’t immediately available in court records.
