SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Authorities say a 42-year-old man who was struck by a truck while walking along a San Francisco freeway had previously been shot in the leg.

San Francisco Police spokeswoman Officer Giselle Talkoff says the death has been classified as suspicious.

He was taken to a hospital, where doctors discovered a bullet wound to his leg. The man’s name was not released.

It was not immediately known why he was walking on the freeway.

The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and cooperated with police. He was questioned and released.
