HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Students on a budget at The University of Southern Mississippi have a new resource to help them with food.
The Eagle’s Nest food pantry officially opened Tuesday in the basement of The Hub. WDAM-TV (https://bit.ly/2e5AJkq ) reports it will provide non-perishable food, hygiene items and some school supplies free-of-charge.
All that is needed to access the pantry is a current USM student ID.
It will also provide applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and information on getting medical insurance.
The facility is being run by the School of Social Work Student Association. Items are being supplied by various donors.
The pantry will be open on Mondays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesdays from 1-5 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
