SHELDON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police investigators are trying to determine if a skull found at a Sheldon home could be from an unreported homicide committed more than 50 years ago.

Police say investigators searched the location on Rice Hill Road in Sheldon on Thursday and Friday after receiving a tip that human remains could be found there.

The skull, which was found during the search, has been taken to the Vermont Medical Examiner’s Office for further analysis. The investigation is continuing.
