ROUGON, La. (AP) - An early morning fiery crash in West Baton Rouge has claimed the lives of a woman and a 7-year-old girl.

Louisiana State Police say it happened shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday. Troopers say 49-year-old Javone Reed, of Bossier City, was headed north on Louisiana 984 and failed to negotiate a left hand curve before going off the road’s right side. Her car hit a utility pole and a culvert before overturning. Reed and front seat passenger 25-year-old Elizabeth Bacon, of Port Allen, were ejected. The vehicle caught fire with 7-year-old Audrey Bacon still inside.

Reed and the child were pronounced dead at the scene. Elizabeth Bacon was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators say impairment is suspected and a toxicology sample was taken from Reed for analysis.
