JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - A Jersey City man sought in the suffocation death of his older brother has turned himself in to authorities.

Hudson County prosecutors say 58-year-old Gangaram Maharaj is charged with murder in the death of 62-year-old Rajendra Maharaj. His bail was set at $500,000.

Prosecutors say the victim was found dead in a Jersey City apartment on Feb. 27. An autopsy determined that the death was a homicide, but a possible motive for the attack has not been disclosed.

A warrant for Gangaram Maharaj’s arrest was issued Oct. 5. Prosecutors say he turned himself in on Thursday morning.

Gangaram Maharaj faces life in prison if he’s convicted on the murder charge. It wasn’t known Saturday if he has retained an attorney,
