OGILVIE, Minn. (AP) - The State Patrol says a van driver died in a collision with a school bus that had stopped to drop children off near Ogilvie in Kanabec (ka-NAY’-bek) County of east-central Minnesota.

The Patrol says the bus had its lights flashing and stop sign out when it was rear-ended by the cargo van around 4:45 p.m. Friday on Minnesota Highway 47. Sixty-six-year-old Marvin C. Kuiper, of Isle, was killed. Some students suffered minor injuries. The bus driver was not hurt.

It was the second fatal bus accident in Minnesota Friday. Twenty-seven-year-old Travis M. Jacobson, of Winona died when his minivan collided head-on with a school bus near the southeastern Minnesota town of Minneiska (minn-ee-ISS’-ka) around 6 a.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 61 in Wabasha County. No students were on the bus.
