PHOENIX (AP) - Police in Phoenix say a 61-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a car.

Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday in the area of 39th and Camelback avenues.

According to witnesses, the vehicle struck Christine Marie Hamblen and left, heading eastbound on Camelback.



Hamblen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Chevrolet Impala with dark tinted windows and possibly a 2008 model.

Investigators say the car would have damage to its headlights and front fender.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
