BEAR CREEK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 62-year-old man has died after being struck by part of a tree he was cutting down in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula.

The Emmet County sheriff’s department says Myron Gray was working with two friends to cut down the tree in Emmet County’s Bear Creek Township on Saturday when he was struck.

Gray, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was a resident of Bear Creek Township. The county medical examiner has determined that his death was accidental.
