BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a former bookkeeper for two nonprofit Alabama health care centers has been sentenced to five months in prison for stealing over $116,000 from the groups.
They say the money she and her son stole went to items such as truck tires, fishing equipment and an online porn site.
U.S. District Court Judge David Proctor on Monday also ordered 61-year-old Sheila Parker, of Cullman, to spend another five months on home detention once she is released.
The restitution is jointly owed by Parker and her son. James Parker was sentenced in August to serve six months in federal prison for defrauding the health centers.
