FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally stabbing his wife.

The SunSentinel (https://goo.gl/QtCM4k ) reports that 41-year-old Alrick Brown was sentenced Monday. He was convicted last month of first-degree murder.

Authorities say Brown stabbed 51-year-old Dacota Stewart-Dick more than 25 times at a Parkland home in February 2014. Brown said he stabbed his wife in self-defense, but authorities say he didn’t call police until several hours after the attack.
