ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A New Mexico Court of Appeals judge is retiring, creating a vacancy on the 10-judge intermediate court.

Court officials say Judge Michael D. Bustamante will retire Oct. 31. He was appointed to the court in 1994.

Applications for the vacancy will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Nov. 17, and the Appellate Court Judicial Nominating Commission will meet Dec. 1 to interview applicants.

Gov. Susana Martinez will select Bustamante from among the commission’s nominees.
