CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police in Charlotte have arrested a second suspect in the robbery of a pawn shop earlier this month where the first suspect was wounded by an officer.

Police said in a statement Tuesday night that 25-year-old Jamal Westbrooks has been arrested and charged with armed robbery and conspiracy in an Oct. 12 robbery. It was not known if he has an attorney.

The charges stem from a robbery at a pawn shop in which 18-year-old Bobby L. Hargrove was injured.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Officer Kendrick Williams was placed on leave after Hargrove’s injury. Police say Williams fired at Hargrove.

Hargrove suffered only minor injuries and was charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, conspiracy and assaulting an officer after he was treated and released from a hospital.
