BOSWELL, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say a man who escaped the Howard McLeod Correctional Center has been recaptured about 10 miles from the prison.

Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park told reporters that 40-year-old Victor Bowser was found and arrested about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday near Boswell.

Bowser had been reported missing after a head count Tuesday. Authorities say he was re-captured still wearing his gray prison uniform.

Bowser was serving a 10-year prison sentence for drug trafficking and attempting to elude a police officer.
