FREMONT, Calif. (AP) - Police have arrested a San Francisco Bay Area man in connection to more than a dozen arson fires in Fremont.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/2e12bRd ) that the man was arrested Friday after being caught near the scene of what detectives suspect is the 16th fire he’s set since mid-July.

Police were called Thursday to a fire on a small strip of land in the area. Detectives swarmed the area, collecting evidenced that ultimately led them to the suspect.

The 16 fires are still under investigation, but officials say they believe the suspect acted alone.
