PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (AP) - A bridge in Prince George County is being dedicated in memory of a Virginia trooper killed in a car crash.

A ceremony will be held Friday to dedicate the Route 301 bridge over Interstate 95 in honor of Virginia State Trooper Nathan-Michael W. Smith.

Smith was killed in 2015 when his patrol car ran off the side of the road while he was responding to an emergency call for help at a crash scene. The 27-year-old from Suffolk, Virginia had joined the state police force in December 2013.
